Frequently Asked Questions

Flower remedies are considered a 'vibrational' medicine, akin to homeopathy or acupuncture - working on the subtle, bioenergetic field.
Like other forms of natural medicine, flower remedies take effect by treating the individual, not by diagnosis or treatment of physical symptoms.
Flower remedies work specifically on the emotional condition of a person, thus two people with the same complaint - e.g. eczema, may benefit from completely different remedies - one may be disheartened and resigned to the complaint, while the other may be impatient with it — therefore different remedies will be appropriate in each case.
The effect of taking the remedies is not to suppress negative attitudes but to transform them into positive ones, stimulating our own potential for self-healing and freeing the physical system to engage fully in fighting dis-ease and stress.

The standard dose is four drops, under the tongue, four times a day. This dosage may be increased in acute situations to once every hour, or more as required.
Regular use of flower remedies strengthens their effectiveness. Therefore the potency of the remedy is increased, not by the volume of a single dose, but by taking them on a frequent and consistent basis.

Many people experience an initial increase in healthy self-awareness, and a recognition of their previous pattern of imbalance. Lessening of stress and anxiety, increased confidence, harmony in relationships, inner peace and optimism.
In the first few days of treatment, it is not uncommon to need more sleep, or to feel a release of previously suppressed emotions. This reaction is subtle, part of the healing process, and will pass after a few days.
-
Flower remedies can take effect immediately in certain cases - long-term issues may take three weeks to one month to feel changes.
The effects of flower remedies are cumulative in nature, therefore remedies must be taken as directed to feel their benefits.

If the minimal alcohol content is of concern, alcohol free blends are available upon request.

The amount of alcohol ingested while taking flower remedies is very minimal (four drops of diluted brandy, per dose)
You may wish to further dilute the remedy by adding four drops from the treatment bottle into a glass of spring water, and sipping this at intervals. Or, by adding 16 drops to a water bottle to be sipped throughout the day.
These dilution methods will be just as effective as taking the remedy straight from the treatment bottle.
If preferred alcohol-free remedies can be made on request, using organic vegetable glycerin in place of the traditional brandy. Please state this preference ahead of your consultation.
-

No more than any other medicines. The remedies are very effective with both animals and babies, as well as in helping sceptical people who try them as a last resort.
Plants also benefit from the remedies; gardeners find that giving flower remedies to plants on re-potting, for example, help the plants to flourish after being moved.
-
No, flower remedies were discovered by a medical doctor, who, well ahead of his time, recognised what conventional medicine now acknowledges - the Mind-body connection.
Though this concept was revolutionary 100 years ago, it is now widely accepted that the body, mind and emotions all play a crucial role in our overall health and wellbeing.
-
Flower remedies are safe, non-addictive and cause no side effects.
If the incorrect remedy is taken the treatment will simply be ineffective.
